This year might be full of weeds, but Kelsea Ballerini is all roses.
In this backstage selfie, Ballerini shares a sultry photo to Twitter and says, “comin up roses ✨// CMA awards”
The CMA Awards show red carpet did not disappoint this year, even though it was scaled down. Stars like Ballerini were dressed to impress, too.
According to the Daily Mail, Ballerini’s sheer dress is from Dolce & Gabbana. It’s embellished with red blooms and green vines that hug that country music star’s curves wonderfully. Additionally, she even wears red heels with a matching pink and white flower decoration.
Her hair’s slicked back and a red lip ties the ensemble together.
Kelsea Ballerini Gets the Last Minute Nod
Perhaps everything is coming up roses for the country star.
Kelsea Ballerini was planning on sitting on the 2020 CMA Awards. She didn’t earn a nomination this year, nor was she performing.
She says to PEOPLE in an interview, “Putting out an album and working as hard as I can, even through a pandemic, I just felt disappointed to not be a part of a community that I work really hard to stand up for and be a face of and make music that I really do hope represents the genre well… I just felt disappointed, and that’s okay. That’ll make me make a better record next time.”
However, after several performers had to drop out after testing positive for COVID-19, Ballerini got tapped to perform. The 27-year-old was added to the show lineup just hours before the start.
She channeled Shania Twain in a black and white jumpsuit complete with a top hat. As a matter of fact, Ballerini performed her new single, “Hole in the Bottle,” that she just released with the Canadian country music singer.
The Ballerini and Twain remix released Nov. 12. The official lyric video is out now on Ballerini’s Youtube channel. You can hear Twain’s voice, alongside Ballerini’s. They even banter back and forth during various parts of the song.
“Hole in the Bottle” is from Ballerini’s third single from her new album titled “kelsea.” It was released earlier this year.
