Country star Kenny Chesney just sold his Nashville mansion for a huge price. Find out just how much the Music City home was bought for.

Kenny Chesney is celebrating the new year with the sale of his Nashville mansion. The singer just sold his 12,600 sq ft. home for $11.5 million.

The mansion sits on 56 acres of land located in Franklin, Tennessee, which is just a 20-minute drive from Nashville proper. While the home was sold for a fortune, it was originally listed for $13.9 million. Without any takers, Chesney decided to lower the price a bit. He is still making a profit however, since he bought the mansion in 2009 for $9.25 million.

The new homeowner will enjoy 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, and a 10-car garage. They will also experience a lovely outdoor terrace, pool, and hot tub.

Kenny Chesney Tributes a Good Friend

The county singer posted a kind tribute to football coach John Madden. Calling him a “good friend,” Chesney honored his memory in an Instagram post.

“So long to my good fiend John Madden,” Chesney starts. “He was such a big part of the ‘Boys of Fall’ film. We became friends after his interview, and he’ll be missed by everyone that loves the game of football. Thank you, John, for your time and for listening to my song and bringing so many people together on a Sunday afternoon. Rest In Peace, my friend.”

“Boys of Fall” is a football documentary created by Kenny Chesney. Spending over a year on the film, Chesney interviewed several notable players and coaches of the game. One of which was John Madden. His interactions with the NFL coach made a lasting impression. Chesney was nervous before their interview.

“When I first met John Madden, I was so starstruck I could hardly interview him,” he says.

The inspiration to create the film came from two things: Chesney’s love of football and one of his music videos. The singer’s music video for his track “The Boys of Fall” is a powerful montage of some of the best players and coaches of the NFL. It begins with a speech from Sean Payton, coach of the New Orleans Saints. Working on the 8-minute sequence inspired Chesney to dig deeper into the subject.

“Boys of Fall” premiered on ESPN last summer. Chesney looks back on the filming experience fondly.

“We went all around the country interviewing the best minds in this game. “It was the most unbelievable journey of my life.”
