Country music star Kid Rock recently congratulated his friend Dustin Johnson, the world’s top-ranked golfer, for winning the Masters.
Johnson polished off a record-setting performance with his final round at Augusta National Golf Club on Sunday. His final score of 268 (-20 under par) is the lowest score in the history of the Masters and ties the lowest score at any major championship. The previous Masters record was 18 under. That record was previously held by Tiger Woods (in 1997) and Jordan Spieth (2015).
Johnson beat Cameron Smith and Sungjae Im by five strokes each.
Kid Rock sent out a congratulatory tweet to Johnson after Johnson had claimed his green jacket.
“Big congrats to my friends Dustin Johnson, A.J, Paulina and the whole family / crew on a great win at The Masters today!! I smell a party in Jupiter Fl tonight! Don’t rock too hard without me!! -Kid Rock,” he wrote on Twitter.
Johnson came into the Masters as the world’s top-ranked player. He followed up by capping off a dominant week at Augusta National by winning his first Masters title and second major championship overall.
Kid Rock Thanks Veterans
Today, Kid Rock was congratulating a Masters winner. Just a couple days ago, he was celebrating Veterans Day 2020 by showing his appreciation and admiration for those who currently serve in the US armed forces as well as the veterans. The “Picture” singer took to social media on Wednesday morning to pen a moving post about the military.
The 49-year-old musician shared a handful of photos on his Twitter page. He also offered up kind words about veterans and military members. One picture shows him performing onstage for military members while another shows him serving up a meal around Christmas time.
“Some of the hardest and most rewarding work I have ever done was performing and spending time with our military around the world,” he captioned the post. “But it is nothing compared to the service and dedication our proud veterans and their families have done for our great nation. Thank you again!-Kid Rock.”
Kid Rock is an avid supporter of the military and veterans. In addition to donating hours upon hours to spending time with those in uniform, he’s also released music to celebrate them.
Back in December of 2016, Kid Rock released a song dedicated to service members past and present. He collaborated with the band The Trews on a song called “Highway of Heroes.”
