Kix Brooks Reveals Why He ‘Got in This Business’ of Country Music

After a successful career as a country music superstar, Kix Brooks is now a star in the world on on-air media.

Brooks, now 65-years-old, is the host of “American Country Countdown with Kix Brooks,” a radio show featuring the hottest country songs in the United States. Brooks was recently nominated for a prestigious award for his on-air radio work. The Academy of Country Music recently reveals that Brooks is a nominee for “National On-Air Personality of the Year.”

Kix Brooks Expressed Excitement Over Award Nomination

In a social media post, Brooks expresses his excitement for the nomination and thanks ACM for recognizing him. A member of former country music duo “Brooks and Dunn” the singer has carved a nice niche for himself in front of a microphone. In the social media post, he also talks about his country music career beginnings and why he chose the path.

“Counting backwards from 30 to 1 — that’s the hard part!” he writes in the tweet. “Still having a ball hanging with my friends in the studio — watching songs come to life and careers being launched. That is why I got in this business — when it comes right down to it… I’m just a fan! Thanks so much!”

Brooks has more than 126,000 Twitter followers giving him a large social media following. His award nomination post received several “likes” and comments.

The Academy of Country Music released nominees for several awards on Tuesday. Along with the on-air personality award, they also put out their nominations for “Radio Station of the Year.” Brooks will go up against some heavy hitters for the award.

Brooks, who plays numerous instruments, was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2019 as a member of Brooks and Dunn. His partner, Ronnie Dunn, is also a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame.
