Besides being an influential performer, actor, and songwriter, Kris Kristofferson is also busy with his own personal life.

Kristofferson is known for songs like “Me and Bobby McGee,” “Help Me Make It Through the Night,” and “Sunday Mornin’ Comin’ Down.” He also joined a group called the Highwaymen alongside Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, and Willie Nelson.

On the screen, he is most known for his role in “A Star Is Born,” which earned him a Golden Globe award. He went on to act in other films like “Convoy,” “Blade,” and “Lone Star.” From film to music to bands, Kristofferson has continued to make quite the name for himself.

He announced his retirement in 2021, but with eight kids maybe someone can continue his irreplaceable legacy.

Kris Kristofferson First Three Kids

He was married three times during his life. He was first married to Frances Mavia Beer and Rita Coolidge. His third wife was Lisa Meyers. The two got married in 1983 and have been together since.

The two live together in their Malibu, California home and also have a residence in Hana on the island of Maui.

He has had eight kids from his three marriages. He had his daughter Tracy in 1962 and his son Kris in 1968 while he was married to Beer. Tracy graduated from Stanford and is an actor and producer. She is most known for films like “A Place to Grow,” “Night of the Cyclone,” and “Trouble in Mind.”

According to Classic Country Music, his son Kris Kristofferson Jr. has little information about him available to the public. He leads a very personal life.

He had one daughter with his second wife, recording artist Rita Coolidge, named Casey. She was born in 1974. She has taken after her father’s love for music and makes music in a band called the Casey Kristofferson Band.

According to the band’s site, the overall sound is a mixture of classic country and a more contemporary sound. They had their debut with the album “Dirty Feet,” which was written by Casey and Andy Buckner. He was on “The Voice” during season nine.

Casey and Andy are vocals, Muddy Welles is on guitar, Jim Aaron plays the harmonica, Zack Page is on bass, and Herschel VanDyke is on rhythm. Casey first went on tour when she was just seven weeks old alongside her parents. She had performed in a variety of bands before starting this project that highlights unique voices and songwriting.

Kristofferson Kids with Current Wife Lisa

Kris Kristofferson then had five more kids with his current wife Lisa. This includes Jesse, Jody, Johnny, Kelly Marie, and Blake.

The oldest child from that marriage is Jesse. He was born in 1983 and has taken a liking to the acting world. He has appeared in the “Melrose Place” reboot, “Days of Our Lives,” “Bloodline,” and “Circle of Eight.”

His next child was Jody, who was born in 1985. Jody has taken on a very distinctive path as a professional wrestler. He was with the WWE from 2012 to 2014 where he instead went by Garrett Dylan. He is now retired from the wrestling world.

Johnny Kristofferson was born in 1988 and is currently an attorney in California. Kelly Marie Kristofferson was born in 1990 and is the youngest daughter of Kris Kristofferson. She is married to a painter, Aydin Hamami. Similar to her father, Kelly is interested in acting, instruments, and singing. She also is a writer. Kelly has performed with her father in the past.

Lastly is Blake Kristofferson, who was born in 1994 and has a private life as well. He graduated from Pepperdine University.

Besides announcing his retirement in late January, Kristofferson has likely been spending these past few months busy at home with his family.
