Country Queen Loretta Lynn has a super sweet birthday photo and message for her “baby girl,” Cissie, on her daughter’s birthday.
There’s nothing like a mother’s love. Especially if your mother is legend Loretta Lynn! The 3-time-Grammy-award-winning singer-songwriter is wishing her daughter, Cissie, a very happy birthday Wednesday with this super sweet Twitter post.
“This girl is the baby girl of my first four. We love to sing together and laugh together,” she begins on her official account. “I sure love her and wouldn’t trade her for the world! Happy birthday, Sweet Cissie!”
Her adorable caption comes alongside a heartwarming photo of Loretta Lynn embracing Cissie at home. The two are all smiles, with Lynn’s own still melting hearts over sixty years into her country music career:
All in all, Cissie is the first of six children Loretta Lynn has had in her lifetime. Remarkably, the country sensation was married at the young age of fifteen. And by the time she was twenty-two, Lynn had four children. Then, in her early thirties, she would give birth to twin girls.
Cissie was born Clara Marie Lynn on April 7, 1952, and was named after Loretta’s mother, Clara (who can be seen to Loretta’s right in the photo for this article). Like Loretta, she’s a country singer and songwriter. Marrying fellow singer-songwriter John Beams, the two would form a band. Together, Cissie and her husband have opened for icons like Conway Twitty and George Jones.
Loretta Lynn loves keeping the family tradition alive, too. She’s produced two of Cissie and Beams’ albums, with two hitting in the same year, 2011. This would mark Loretta Lynn’s first time as a music producer, a career she continues to this day. Within, Cissie would even cover some of her mother’s most famous hits.
Loretta Lynn is ‘Still Woman Enough’
And if there were ever any doubt, Country Queen Loretta Lynn is “Still Woman Enough” after all these years. Her latest album bares the title, which the star also used for her in-depth memoir.
“I’m sure glad my upcoming album, Still Woman Enough, is on Apple Music,” the living legend posted to her official Instagram account in February of 2021. “Push that music button and add it right now! Leave me a comment when you add it, I think you’re gonna love it,” she continues.
What a legend.
As Lynn states, “Still Woman Enough” is now available to stream on Apple Music, and has enjoyed a fantastic run on the country charts.
“Still Woman Enough” – which is also the title of her aforementioned memoir published in 2002 – is the 4th album for Legacy Recordings from the prolific singer-songwriter. Produced by Patsy Lynn Russell & John Carter Cash, Loretta Lynn’s latest features an incredible line-up of guest artists, including: Reba McEntire, Carrie Underwood, Margo Price, and Tanya Tucker.
