Loretta Lynn is feeling extra cheerful on this special 2020 Christmas. The country music icon took to Instagram on Christmas Eve to share a sweet photo with her family along with a moving note about the holidays.

The picture shows the 88-year-old ‘Fist City’ singer seated in a chair surrounded by her four children. Lynn holds a photo of her late husband Oliver ‘Doolittle’ Lynn.

Lynn begins the post by writing, “When it’s all said and done this right here is what matters the most.”

Given the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Lynn explains that her family decided to limit the number of people gathering together for the holiday festivities. “Christmas is a little quieter around here this year–just my kids and not the whole big crew because of Covid, but this picture tells it all,” she continues.

Loretta Lynn’s children in the photo, Patsy Lynn, Cissy Lynn, Ernest Ray Lynn, and Peggy Lynn held up photos of their two siblings that passed: Jack Benny Lynn and Betty Sue Lynn.

“We shared a sweet moment together when we took this picture,” Loretta writes. “I can’t tell you how much I wish Doo, Jack, and Betty were with us today. My heart’s never gotten over losing those three.”

Loretta’s son Jack died on July 24, 1984 at just 34 years old. He was attempting to ford the Duck River at Lynn’s family ranch on horseback. He drowned in the incident, according to People.

Betty Sue Lynn, Loretta’s daughter, died of emphysema in July of 2013, according to Heavy. She was 64-years-old at the time of her death.

Loretta continues by adding, “Yet, I’m so grateful for the four I still have and my heart is full of memories and love. When we think about them we laugh and we cry. I guess that’s how it goes.”

In conclusion, Loretta ends the message with a heartwarming note: “This picture is my world–my whole world. Everything that matters the most to me is right here. I pray your Christmas Is full of love, laughter, sweet memories, faith, and family. Merry Christmas, friends.”
