Iconic country music singer and songwriter Loretta Lynn is celebrating 89 years on earth as her birthday was just yesterday (Wednesday).
One of the most celebrated country music artists of all time, the tributes came pouring in on Lynn’s birthday. Fans across the world took to social media to wish the country superstar a special day and many more birthdays to come. One of the most beautiful and fitting tributes to Lynn came from her own sister, Crystal Gayle. Also a noted country music artist, Gayle uses social media site Instagram to wish her sis a very happy birthday. Gayle also includes a moving story from when the sisters were younger, noting that she always looks up to Loretta.
“Happy Birthday to my beautiful sister Loretta Lynn,” Gayle says while adding a flower emoji to the post. “My mother used to tell me when I was a little girl that I would sit on the dresser and put on lipstick and say ‘Do you think Lorettie think me pretty?'” I have always looked up to my sister and I still do! Love you Loretta.”
Gayle adds a heart emoji to finish out the Instagram post. Her inspiring post to her sister took in well over 1,000 comments and dozens of replies. Country fans use the post’s comments section to chime in with their own birthday wishes to Loretta Lynn.
Loretta Lynn Thanks Fans For Birthday Wishes
Crystal Gayle is far from the only person to use social media to wish the “You Ain’t Woman Enough” singer a happy birthday. Thankful for all the well-wishes, Loretta Lynn also uses Instagram to thank her fans, social media followers, and everyone else who took the time for a birthday wish. She also thanks her family for making her 89th birthday one to remember.
“Y’all are spoiling me with all these awesome comments, posts, and birthday wishes,” she writes. “And my family is heaping the birthday love on here at the ranch! Love y’all.”
It wouldn’t be her only birthday thank you either. Later in the day, she once again uses social media to thank everyone for their thoughts on her special day.
“Y’all have made my birthday just perfect,” she writes. “Lots of love, flowers, gifts, cards, letters, and messages have made this little Kentucky girl awfully happy. Thank y’all!”
