Luke Bryan Celebrates National Sons Day with Adorable Family Photo

Even though Luke Bryan stays busy writing new music and judging hopefuls on “American Idol,” he makes sure he prioritizes his most important job of all: being a father.

On Thursday, the country megastar gave us a glimpse into his adorable family when he posted a tribute to his sons in honor of national sons day.

Bryan and his wife Caroline Boyer are proud parents to two sons: 13-year-old Thomas Boyer, also known as “Bo”, and 11-year-old Tatum Christopher.

In addition, the family almost doubled in size when the couple adopted their nephew and two nieces: Til, Jordan, and Kris, after a devastating loss nearly tore the family apart.

In May 2007, Bryan’s sister, Kelly, passed away unexpectedly while at home. According to his wife, Kelly was “healthy, beautiful, and the best mom to ever walk this earth,” she said.

“They never determined what happened. The autopsies, the coroner, no one could figure it out,” Brain said in an interview from 2013. The last time the siblings saw one another was a month earlier when she saw him perform at the Opry.

After she passed, Kelly’s husband Ben later died in 2014, leaving Bryan and his wife to make a huge decision. “We never thought twice about it,” said Caroline about taking in their two nieces and nephew. “You know, it was never something that he and I had to sit down and talk about, you know, should we take this on? We just did it.”

Luke Bryan & His Family Stay Smiling Amid Loss

Even though the family has not been without tragedy, they keep things positive. You would never be able to tell they suffered so much loss when you see their smiling faces on social media.

As for their biological children, Caroline has described Bo as more like his father and says he “wakes up singing and dancing,” In comparison, she says Tate “likes to be in the background,” adding, “that is exactly how I am. I don’t want to be front and center.”

For Bryan, fatherhood is his life which fans can often hear in his music. A perfect example of this is his song “Pick It Up.”

“I’m so proud of this one,” he said when asked about the hit song. “That’s how I live my life. I try to put a lot of the things that I love around my boys. I don’t force it on them, I don’t say, ‘You’re going to do this.’”

He went on to add, “I just hand them a baseball and we start throwing it. I do a lot of things, basketball, football, fishing, hunting… and I hope that they can pick up some of this stuff and apply it to their life and be better young men from it.”
