Luke Bryan Shares Stripped Down Performance of ‘Floatin’ This Creek’ While Absent from ‘American Idol’

Many American Idol fans have been worried about singer Luke Bryan since he announced he would not be a part of the show tonight due to contracting COVID-19. Luckily, he seems to be doing okay. During his absence from the show, Bryan shared and posted a mellowed-out, stripped-down version of Floatin This Creek on his Instagram.

Floatin’ This Creek is from the deluxe version of Bryan’s newest album, Born Here, Live Here, Die Here. Born Here, Live Here, Die Here was originally released in August 2020. The album includes singles such as “Knockin’ Boots,” “What She Wants Tonight,” “One Margarita,” and “Down to One.”

The comments, meanwhile, are filled with support for the singer. “Love this, Luke!” one commenter said, “Thanks for always working so hard to give us the best music. We love you! Feel better.” Other comments wish him a speedy recovery. Meanwhile, American Idol fans wait with bated breath as their favorite contestants fight to stay in the running tonight.

Luke Bryan Wishes ‘American Idol’ Contestants Luck

Over on Twitter, Luke Bryan wished the contestants of American Idol who are all competing to remain on the show good luck. American Idol’s latest season is gearing up towards its final showdowns. Bryan has been a judge since 2018. He currently judges alongside Katy Perry and Lionel Richie.

Paula Abdul Substitutes

Because the show must go on, Paula Abdul, former American Idol judge, has stepped in as a substitute. Abdul wished Luke Bryan well before expressing excitement about being back on the show.

Abdul was a judge on American Idol from 2002-2008. Though this is her first time on the ABC version of the show, this definitely isn’t her first rodeo when it comes to judging. Many of the seasons Abdul was a part of launched hopeful contestants into stardom, including Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood.

Tonight on American Idol, the contestant pool gets slimmer. As always, the viewers vote on which contestants they want to advance. Based on the amount of talented and driven contestants this year, the episode should be quite suspenseful.

Luke Bryan ‘Doing Well’

Based on his earlier statements and his latest posts, it seems Luke Bryan is doing well given the circumstances. It’s not clear yet when Bryan will be able to return to American Idol or if Abdul will substitute again. Bryan did say that he’s “doing well.” The American Idol Instagram account says he’s resting.
