Yep, please don’t mix up Luke Combs with Luke Bryan. And never call budding NFL superstar DK Metcalf, DB.

It’s all a continuing joke on Twitter. Combs, the country singer, kept it alive Thursday with a quote tweet of Metcalf. He wrote: “My Name IS NOT LUKE BRYAN”

Apparently, folks get Combs and Bryan mixed up. Guess it’s a Luke thing.

Combs is a 30-year-old guy with blond hair and a beard. He just won the CMA Best Male Vocalist and Album of the Year for “What You See Is What You Get.”

Bryan is 44. He’s a judge on American Idol. Bryan also has been dominating the country music scene for a decade.

Who mixes up these two? In fact, Bryan jokes that he gets confused with Blake Shelton, who is on “The Voice.”

How’d DK Metcalf Get Involved In This Conversation?

Metcalf was serious earlier this month when he tweeted about people mixing him up. He’ll be on the field tonight when Seattle plays host to Arizona for Thursday Night Football on Fox.

Metcalf, the second-year player from Mississippi, has set the NFL abuzz with his combo of size (he’s 6-foot-4) and speed. He’s averaging 18 yards a catch. He’s also scored eight touchdowns.

Metcalf was asked earlier this month why he tweeted that his name wasn’t DB. USA Today reported that Metcalf was talking about reporters getting his name wrong.

“Throughout the years, I have had so many reporters reference me as DJ Metcalf,” he said. “And it is really starting to get to me now. I can understand if you really don’t know me, but right now, I mean, I think I’m making a name for myself.”

Metcalf’s biggest play this season probably wasn’t even a reception. Rather, it’s when he chased down Arizona defensive back Budda Baker, who’d just intercepted quarterback Russell Wilson. Baker appeared to have a clear path for a 90-yard pick six.

Then Metcalf caught him.
