It’s been a busy month for country music star Luke Combs. The “Cold as You” singer recently picked up the Entertainer of the Year Award at the CMAs and the CMA International Achievement Award last week. He’ll cap off November with his biggest performance of the year. Combs will play halftime of the Cowboys vs. Raiders game in Dallas.
The Cowboys game is an annual football tradition. The Lions, another annual turkey day team, will take on the Bears in Detroit. And the Bills head to the Bayou to take on the Saints Thursday night.
“Considering I’m a huge football fan, the Dallas Cowboys were always on our TV on Thanksgiving Day growing up. So, it is a complete honor to be a part of their 25th Thanksgiving Day halftime show supporting The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign,” Combs said in a news release. “I’m used to seeing my friend Ezekiel Elliott jump into the Salvation Army’s red kettle. So I’ve become very familiar with their program. And I’m humbled to be able to try and help put food on people’s tables and presents under their trees for Christmas.”
The Salvation Army says this is the most important Red Kettle Campaign in recent memory as millions are struggling because of the pandemic. Money raised will help millions afford Christmas gifts, food, shelter, rent, and utilities this year. The charity says more than 4 million people face eviction this holiday season.
Luke Combs, Thomas Rhett, Morgan Wallen to Headline Festival
The Rock the Ocean’s Tortuga Music Festival returns to its normal schedule next year after two years of disruptions. And the three-day festival is returning with a stacked line-up. Luke Combs, Thomas Rhett, and Morgan Wallen will headline the main stage when it returns to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, on April 8-10, 2022.
Organizers canceled the event in 2020 because of the coronavirus. They moved the festival to November this year.
Along with the headliners, dozens of other major acts will perform at the popular country music festival. Confirmed artists for next year’s event include Brothers Osborne, Jordan Davis, Travis Denning, Walker Hayes, Randy Houser, Nelly, Dee Jay Silver, Surfaces, Mitchell Tenpenny, Travis Tritt, Hailey Whitters, and Lainey Wilson. Passes for the destination weekend will go on sale Friday, December 3 at 10 am ET at TortugaMusicFestival.com.
Prices for a 3-day pass start at $249. VIP passes begin at $1,299 plus fees, with a 3-day Super VIP option at $2,049.
A portion of proceeds goes to the Rock The Ocean Foundation as well as marine conservation, education, and research efforts. The non-profit Rock The Ocean Foundation says it focuses its efforts on five core values. These include turtle conservation, shark conservation, coral reef degradation, overfishing, and marine pollution.
