On Sunday (October 3rd), country superstar Luke Combs took to his social media accounts to announce his new single The Kind of Love We Make. The singer/songwriter notably sang the track on his tour bus.
“The Kind of Love We Make (Unreleased Original) Written a ton of songs over the last year and a half. Here’s one I wrote with @thebrothershunt, @guitarpickerjd, and @dnunley321,” Luke Combs wrote in his post.
Luke Combs’ The Love We Make’s chorus lyrics read:
“Let’s get some candles burnin’/ And some records turnin’/ All the lights down low/ Take it nice and slow/ The way your body movin’/ Keep doin’ what you’re doin’ to me all night long/ Writin’ our love song.”
Followers of Luke Combs reacted to the song with constant praises. One follower said, “Convinced he can’t make a bad song.”
Another follower went on to add, “Another absolute hit! You have so many good unreleased songs! Please put this on an album! @lukecombs.”
Luke Comb Opens Up About His Songwriting Skills
During a 2020 interview with Music Week, Luke Combs revealed that someone once told him that he should stick to just being a songwriter. “I don’t think I was surprised by that. Because Hadn’t been in town very long at that point,” the musician recalled. He then said he had some friends who had connections with publishing deals. This in return became confusing and awkward.
When asked if he felt the need to relinquish control once he got signed, Luke Combs shared, “I definitely know a lot of people that are like, ‘Man, the label wanted me to sound like this and so I did.’”
Luke Combs describes those kinds of situations as sad because sometimes that’s the thing that works for an artist.
“And then they’re like, ‘Well, here’s stuff that I really want to be putting out’ and people don’t like that because they’re used to the first album.”
While also talking about his reaction to his first number 1 single, Luke Combs said he didn’t feel the way he thought he was going to feel about it. “You just work so hard. I think a lot of things in the music business can kind of be like that,” he explained. The country musician noted that artists can be working at that goal for months to even a year with the hopes of achieving number one.
“So It can only be a letdown if it doesn’t go number 1,” he then added. “Then when it goes to number 1, you’re like, ‘Thank God!’ It’s like a relief.”
Luke Combs is currently on tour. His next stops include Albuquerque, New Mexico; Florence, Arizona; Colorado Springs, Colorado; and Corpus Christ, Texas.
