Luke Combs Reveals His Favorite Song From Latest Album

Luke Combs revealed his favorite song off of his new deluxe album, What You See Aint Always What You Get.

What Luke Combs Had to Say

The country crooner shared his thoughts via Instagram on Monday (October 26). “I like them all but the response to ‘Forever After All’ has been pretty awesome,” he wrote in an Instagram Story.

They say nothing lasts forever
But they ain’t seen us together
Or the way the moonlight dances in your eyes
Just a T-shirt in the kitchen
With no make-up and a million
Other things that I could look at my whole life
A love like that makes a man have second thoughts
Maybe some things last forever after all

The Story Behind the Song

‘”Forever After All’ is the first song that I wrote in my house in Tennessee,” he revealed in a press release. “I wrote it with Rob Williford and Drew Parker, and it’s one of those songs that we’ve been trying to hold back for a long time and not play, and we knew how much we loved it and how much we thought people would like it, so I’m glad that everybody’s finally going to get a chance to hear it. It’s just kind of a continuance of that love story that you’ve heard in ‘Beautiful Crazy’ and ‘Better Together.’”

Combs proposed to his now-wife, Nicole Hocking, back in 2018. The pair originally met at a music festival in 2016.

His original proposal idea was to have her cat wear the ring on his collar. “And it jumps in her lap when we got to our new house, but the cat had an accident on the way,” he recalled. “So I ended up getting down on one knee and just telling Nicole what I was ‘going’ to do.”
