They say that a happy marriage requires you to marry your best friend. Luke Combs agrees.

The “Beautiful Crazy” singer took to Instagram recently to show some love to his wife and “best friend” Nicole Combs (formerly Nicole Hocking.)

“Pretty awesome being married to your best friend. @nicohocking

The pair were married earlier in the year at their home in southern Florida. The union comes after just under two years of engagement and four years of dating.

While 2020 continues to surprise and discourage with obstacles, it’s always nice to see something wholesome like the pair’s marriage.

However, Luke and Nicole’s wedding wasn’t without its own 2020-based issues.

Combs’ Wedding Song and Last-Minute Changes

Obviously, 2020 continues to force adjustments and changes in pretty much all facets of life. Luke and Nicole Combs aren’t immune to that.

In fact, the couple’s wedding nearly suffered a lethal setback. Speaking to Taste of Country, Combs explains the major issue.

“We had to change venues a week out,” Combs said. “So that was a lot of fun.

Besides being forced to switch plans with just a week remaining, the couple also needed to decide a major facet of the wedding: the first dance’s song.

It’s never an easy choice. Which song best describes a couple’s love? However, Combs happens to have an interesting predicament.

He doesn’t just have one song written about Nicole, he has several. Namely, his song “Beautiful Crazy” is arguably the artist’s biggest hit since hitting stardom.

Combs explains that there was a bit of a back-and-forth over what song the pair would choose. But at the end of the day, the couple figured it only made sense to go with the hit.

“We wrestled with the idea of, ‘Is that corny and is it weird?'” Combs said. “It ended up being like, ‘You know what? This is the thing. We need to do this thing.'”
