Staying home during the COVID-19 pandemic has given many of us time to do things we didn’t have time to do when the world was “normal.” We have taken up a new hobby, undertaken projects around the house, spent more time with our close family members, and much, much more. Maren Morris, like many of us, has taken up reading as one way to spend our extra time. In fact, the country singer has been reading so much lately that she needs help finding her next book.
On Saturday (Jan. 16) the singer posted her request on Twitter. “I need some book recommendations. I’m really into NF right now (memoirs historical bios, anything cult-y),” she wrote. “I just read Sara Edmondson’s book on NXIVM, and @AndreaWillWrite‘s amazing new book Baseball’s Leading Lady, and now I’m on a tear!”
As fans shared their recommendations, Morris often responded.
“What I talk about when I talk about running” is a magical book that appears to be running memoir but is quite something else. By Haruki Murakami,” one user posted. “Buying now,” Morris said in response.
Another fan posted: “Sarah Broom’s The Yellow House is astounding; Tara Westover’s Educated deserves all the hype it’s received; Allison Moorer’s Blood and Kathy Valentine’s All I Ever Wanted are exceptional reads too!” Maren Morris also saw this suggestion and responded with “Thank you!”
“A long term reading project I recommend is Robert Caro’s series of books on LBJ,” another user shared with Morris. “These are the best books about how the personal informs the political that I have ever read. Master Of The Senate is jaw dropping.” Again she responded, saying “Checking out!”
Maren Morris Reacts to Finishing ‘West Wing’
In addition to reading books, Maren Morris has also been enjoying some quality television. The singer recently shared via Twitter that she had finished the “West Wing.” With that popular show behind her, she asked fans to offer their suggestions for what she should watch next.
One of the suggestions was another Aaron Sorkin project. “I went directly to The Newsroom & loved it!” one user shared.
Marren Morris Teases New Music
Marren Morris is hoping to release new music during 2021. “Songs are sounding bitchy and I like,” she wrote on Twitter with a purple devil emoji.
As she releases new music, Maren Morris won’t be able to tour this year. According to earlier reports, she had to cancel her planned RSVP Tour that was planned for this year.
“Hi, darlings,” Morris starts off in the letter for her fans. “There is so much hope with this vaccine being distributed in 2021, but we are still unsure of when we will be able to do the tour next year. With the prospect of, yet again, rescheduling half of the dates already becoming a reality, I have decided to cancel the RSVP Tour. You will receive a full refund at point of purchase.”
