Country sensation Maren Morris has first speaking gig of her career – and it’s a huge one. How huge? She’s on for the Biden-Harris “I Will Vote” campaign concert.
“Y’all, I have never been asked to speak at anything, only perform,” Morris starts off her tweet. This Sunday, however, the star says “I am speaking to my country.”
The country singer will join “an incredible group of performers for a concert to support Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and Democrats down the ballot.”
Hosted by George Lopez and Ana Navarro, the “I Will Vote” concert is officially sponsored by the Joe Biden campaign.
Maren Morris One of Many Starts to Back Biden/Harris
According to the official Biden campaign site, donors can “chip in any amount to attend our “I Will Vote” concert in support of Joe Biden, Kamala Harris and Democrats across the country.”
In addition to Morris, Sara Bareilles, Black Eyed Peas & Jennifer Hudson will perform. Jon Bon Jovi, Ciara, John Legend, and Dave Matthews will also be on stage. If that wasn’t enough to convince you of the weight behind this concert – Foo Fighters, Pink, and Cher herself will be singing live, too.
What’s more, Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and their significant others will be in attendance. Speaking in addition to Maren Morris will be Lin-Manuel Miranda, Armie Hammer, Amy Schumer, and many more.
The concert will air exclusively on Sunday, October 25th at 8:00 p.m. ET.
All donations will go toward the election of Joe Biden, Kamala Harris and “Democrats up and down the ballot.”
Morris’ official website notes her latest album GIRL, hit in March 2019 via Columbia Nashville.
The album became “Album of the Year at the 53rd Annual Country Music Association Awards.” There, Morris received the most nominations of any artist. In addition, “the album shattered the record for the largest ever debut streaming week for a country album by a woman with 23.96 million streams and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart and No. 4 on the Billboard 200. Single “The Bones” has just become the first multi-week country radio No. 1 from a woman since 2012.”
