With a successful 2020 now in her rearview mirror, country music superstar Maren Morris is eyeing the future.

Though she has new music on her mind for the new year, she took time to pay homage to a country music icon today (Tuesday). Morris is the latest country entertainer to wish legendary singer and songwriter Dolly Parton a happy birthday.

Maren Morris took to social media on Tuesday to provide praise to the now 75-year-old Parton. The singer tweeted a video from a time that Parton went out of her way to include Morris in a song.

“Will never be over her pulling me in,” she says in the post’s caption space. “Happy Birthday, Dolly Parton.

The video shows Parton singing a tune and surrounded by other singers and musicians. She pulls Morris in close to her to assist in singing the song’s chorus. Though she doesn’t reveal when and where it took place, its clear that Parton’s action left a positive impression on Morris.

Maren Morris’ tweet drew more than 4,000 “likes” only hours after it went live. Several fans used the post’s comment section to also wish Parton a happy 75th birthday. Morris is far from the only country music star to send well wishes to Parton. Billy Ray Cyrus also took to social media to wish the “Jolene” and “I will Always Love You” singer a wonderful birthday. Parton is Miley Cyrus’ Godmother and she and Billy Ray have a strong relationship dating back several years.

Maren Morris Has Big Plans in Store for 2021

Morris is gearing up for her big plans in 2021 with new music on the way in the near future. Earlier this month she took to social media to express her happiness in the calendar turning over into a new year. She says she got a “high” out of writing 2021 atop of page consisting of new song ideas.

“Writing a song today and putting ‘2021’ for the date of creation seriously got me high,” she says in a January 4 tweet. She had, however, a wildly successful 2020.

While the rising star with a growing fanbase says she excited for the future, its likely she looks back on 2020 fondly.

She was a big time winner at last year’s CMA Awards ceremony putting on a great performance and collecting three awards. She won awards for Female Vocalist of the Year, Single of the Year and Song of the year for “The Bones.”
