A new CD and DVD collection of one of the original country outlaws, Merle Haggard, will be featuring big-name musicians singing him back home.
A worldwide CD and DVD combo release of Sing Me Back Home: The Music Of Merle Haggard is coming out just in time for the holidays.
The entertainment combo covers the one-night only concert event and gathering of artists who joined together to honor the songs of the musical legend at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena.
Blackbird Presents and Caroline Records will release the full-length concert film as a CD and DVD combo, on Dec. 11. The film is currently available for immediate preorder at http://musicofmerle.com.
Sing Me Back Home: The Music Of Merle Haggard is filled with superstar country acts.
The CD/DVD combo is incorporating several genres. The film showcases both new and old country music, as well as rock-n-roll, bluegrass, folk and other genres. It will be honoring the life of Merle Haggard, with the musicians singing him home.
Performance highlights include covers of Haggard’s biggest hits, such as “Mama Tried”, “If We Make It Through December”, “Misery and Gin”, “Ramblin’ Fever”, “Sing Me Back Home” and more.
A-list musicians are taking part in the celebration of Haggard’s life through his music. The Avett Brothers, Dierks Bentley, and even Keith Richards will be featured on the CD and in the film. Merle’s good friend, Willie Nelson, will also be performing.
An all-star ensemble will perform a special rendition of Haggard’s “Okie from Muskogee”.
