As Country Music fans, we all know how important it is to show support for our favorite artists. But what we love just as much is when our favorite stars take a moment to show their appreciation for one another. In this case, it’s “Bluebird” singer Miranda Lambert praising her “Somethin’ Bad” duet partner, Carrie Underwood.

The two are close friends and often speak highly of each other’s talent and vocal skills. On one particular occasion, Lambert uses her biggest spotlight to praise Underwood on her first performance since her November 2017 accident. Underwood took a scary fall at her Nashville, Tennessee home and broke multiple bones. She also received dozens of stitches to her face as a result of the fall.

On a night when Lambert became the all time ACM Award most winningest artist, she showed Underwood her love in a big way. Heading into the 2018 ACM Awards ceremony, Lambert was tied with Brooks and Dunn for the most ACM Award wins. Needing only one win to break the tie, she instead won three awards that night to create a cushion. The show’s host that evening, country music superstar Reba McEntire, made sure the audience knew about Lambert’s accomplishment.

Proudly displaying her three trophies she won during the show, Lambert met with the media following the ceremony. Among her three wins were “Song of the Year” and “Female Vocalist of the Year,” bringing her overall win total to 32. While she was certainly proud of her wins, what she most wanted to talk about was Underwood’s comeback performance. In her backstage interview she proclaims Underwood can out sing her anytime.

“It makes me proud to be a woman in this industry when I see her sing up there and do that,” Lambert says of Underwood. “She’s one of the greatest singers of all time in any genre of music and can sing me under the table. I say that every time and I will continue to say that, but I’m just proud of her and I know how strong she is and how hard she has worked.”

Underwood’s performance for the evening was her song “Cry Pretty.” The song is the title track off of her 2018 studio album “Cry Pretty.” The song was also the lead single off of the album.
