Miranda Lambert and Maren Morris are just happy to be back on stage. And we couldn’t agree more.
The country music stars will take the Grammy Awards stage on Sunday night. Both Maren Morris and Miranda Lambert are nominated for Best Country Song and will be performing their nominated songs on stage. Regardless of who wins the Grammy, we’re just happy to see live performances again, even if we have to watch them on tv for now. During a promotional video, Miranda and Maren talked about what they’re most excited about for their Grammy performances.
“It’s been a few years since I performed on the Grammys stage so I’m just happy to be back,” said Morris. “I’m so happy that they’re doing it safely in person. It just feels like a real show, so I’m very excited to be a part of it.”
Maren Morris Is Performing Her Number One Hit Song ‘The Bones’
Morris will perform her 2019 hit “The Bones.” The song was her first-ever multi-week number one song. The single took home 2020 Country Music Association awards for Single and Song of the year. We’ll see if it takes home the 2021 Grammy Award for Country Song.
“It’s just really special to me because I wrote it years ago and it’s taken on such a new meaning,” said Marris. “It just marks the end of a really beautiful journey that I’ve taken with ‘The Bones.'”
Miranda Lambert Is Performing “Bluebird” for the First Time Ever
Miranda Lambert is performing her new single, “Bluebird.” She has three Grammy nominations this year for Best Country Album, Best Country Song, and Best Country Solo Performance for her album and the title track, Bluebird. However, she’s never played the song live before. The single was released just as the pandemic started and concerts were shut down.
“I haven’t really gotten to perform this at all because it was a single right at the beginning of 2020,” said Lambert. “So I’m just excited to sing it. The set is beautiful, it very ethereal and there’s this peaceful vibe. It has a lot of flowers. I’m excited about it.”
Miranda Lambert said that the Grammys come at the perfect time for her and everyone in the music industry.
“This year felt extra special. It was such a bright spot, especially for music, because we haven’t been able to do what we love to do. So to come to the Grammys and have your song celebrated. It’s really special,” said Lambert.
