Country music singer Miranda Lambert is wishing her husband, Brendan McLaughlin, a very public happy birthday.

Lambert shared a photo of herself kissing McLaughlin on Instagram, and captioned it with a heartfelt message.

“Happy birthday to my sweet husband,” she posted. “The man I love so much with the most contagious smile. Brendan you are a light (and I love your obsession with cows).”

Lambert has been holed up with McLoughlin at their Nashville farm since the coronavirus hit. She has been spending the pandemic listening to music, she tells People TV.

“I definitely have used music to bring me comfort and joy throughout quarantine and all the things going on in the world,” Lambert says. “I didn’t start writing for a long time, but I did listen to a ton of new music. It just shows you that people need that to comfort them and feel united even though we’re not together, we can listen to the same records and talk about it as kind of feels like we listen together.”

Lambert also said in an interview with New York’s Country 94.7 that her original expectation was to continue touring on the road in a couple of months.

“The first month I had a lot of fun,” she said. “I cooked too much and ate way too much, and then I had to roll that back a little bit. There’s stuff to do, it’s just the adjusting of not knowing when I’m going to work again… it’s uneasy.”

Lambert hates giving Zoom concerts. She explains that she got into music for the feeling that performing for a live audience gives her.

Still, she’s glad her recent single “Bluebird” resonates with listeners during the times we’re currently living through.

“I obviously couldn’t have predicted that,” she told 94.7. “But I feel like I’m glad that this was the single at the time that it was because it is a song of hope. It has kind of a dark feel but still hopeful which is kind of how we all feel right now.”
