Miranda Lambert is the latest country star to honor those who served this Veterans Day. For her, it’s both her late, revered grandfathers.
“Happy Veteran’s Day. These are my two paw paws,” Lambert posts to Twitter. Today, like many of us, she celebrates the U.S. Veterans in her family who sacrificed all to protect their country.
For the megastar in particular, she is celebrating her father’s father, Leroy Lambert – and her mother’s father, Marion Hughes.
In addition to thanking both, she posts beautiful portraits of each grandfather respectively.
“[This is] (Dad’s Dad) Leroy Lambert and (Mom’s Dad) Marion Hughes who both served. Thank you to them and all who sacrifice for our country,” she states. As a result, Miranda Lambert sends a clear message to all of America’s veterans and current military that she is behind them 100 percent.
Miranda Lambert Thanks Veterans Before CMA Awards
The post comes on a big day for Lambert for many reasons. Tonight, at 8 PM Eastern, the 54th Annual CMA Awards air LIVE on ABC.
Lambert has become one of the most awarded musicians by the CMAs in history. As a result, she holds the record for most wins for Female Vocalist of the Year at 7 wins. This beats out even her longtime friend & rival for the title, Carrie Underwood, who has won 5 times.
In addition to being a nominee for both Entertainer of the Year and Female Vocalist of the Year, Lambert’s hit song “Bluebird” is up for Song of the Year, Music Video of the Year, and Single of the Year.
If that weren’t enough for the megastar, she’s up for Album of the Year, too, with smash hit Wildcard.
