On October 12, 1993, Warner Bros. Records released Faith Hill’s debut album, Take Me as I Am. And the singer went on to be one of the most famous artists in the 1990s country music scene.

Faith Hill’s record produced four radio singles. Two of those songs, Wild One and Piece of My Heart, ended up being U.S. Country Billboard chart-toppers. The album’s namesake track peaked at number two on the same charts.

Wild One, which also served as her first single stayed at number one for an entire month. The feat was extra special for Faith Hill because the lyrics spoke about her passion for music.

“I was a little rebellious, but one thing Daddy always told me was that I could be anything I wanted to be, just like the song says,” the singer told Country Weekly in 1999. “The first time I heard “Wild One,” I thought it had been written for me.”

As a whole, Take Me As I Am celebrated a lot of fame. It went RIAA platinum three times. And her debut ended up only being the start of Faith Hill’s legacy. She continued producing music into the 2000s, both alone and with her country crooning husband, Tim McGraw.

Throughout her career, she raked in five Grammy awards and one star on the Walk of Fame.
