Country star Blake Shelton is teaching foster children how to fish! In an ongoing program with Oklahoma Wildlife Foundation, Shelton is continuing to pass on the art of fishing to some much-deserving fans: local children.

“The Fostering Outdoor Oklahoma Families partnership continues!” reads the Foundation’s Facebook page. According to their post – Shelton, who is a Oklahoma native, is passing around kindness with a wonderful new collaboration. Along with several great volunteers, The Voice star is inviting local foster children to learn how to fish. But these kids aren’t just learning how to fish anywhere. With his own ponds stock-full of fish, Shelton aims to teach fishing on his own farm. Not only how to fish – but to fillet and cook their catches, too.

Shelton is also member of the Oklahoma Wildife Conservation Foundation board. In fact, he’s the board director! Putting his title to good use, Shelton is spending weekends this fall paying it forward. Local foster kids now have the chance to learn the ancient sport from Shelton himself. And if the photos are anything to go by: everyone’s having an absolute blast.

Thank you, Blake for being so generous and taking time to invest in the children from your home state by showing them what outdoor Oklahoma is all about.

OWCF, Facebook

According to the post, “Fostering Outdoor Oklahoma Families is a partnership with the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation (ODWC)OKDHS and the Oklahoma Wildlife Conservation Foundation to help introduce foster children and their families to the outdoors.”

What’s more, OWCF is also donating the “rods, reels and tackle and the kids got to take everything home so they can keep on fishing!” As a result – Oklahoma kids get to have a blast, feel the love – and learn to fish. All with Mr. Shelton himself.

None of this is possible, however, without the help of others. To learn more about this wonderful foundation, follow the link here.
