Rhett is back on tour for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic hit in early 2020. The musician and his band have been rocking once again in a series of shows at Billy Bob’s in Fort Worth, Texas. The band has already played multiple shows there, which began on Thursday and continued through the weekend. Additionally, they’re playing two more shows at Billy Bob’s later this week on May 14 and 15.
However, Saturday’s concert became even more special when Randy Travis graced the band with his presence. Travis suffered a near-fatal stroke in 2013. After being in a coma, and suffering brain damage from his stroke, it took months for him to recover. Yet Travis persevered and learned to walk and talk again. Even though he still struggles with his health, Travis can also still be seen out and about on occasion enjoying great country music like on Saturday night.
It took Rhett a couple days to share the special memory with his fans on Instagram. But it only takes one glance at his picture to see how much Travis’ visit meant to Rhett and the rest of his crew. All seven men gathered around Travis are smiling ear to ear after their visit with the legendary country artist. Rhett shared some kind words about the musician as well in the post.
“Right before our show on Saturday night @therandytravis shows up. One of the coolest moments ever. Such an amazing human,” Thomas Rhett wrote on Instagram.
Thomas Rhett and His Wife Expecting 4th Child
As they say, everything is bigger in Texas. And that applies to Thomas Rhett’s family when he recently announced while in Texas for a series of shows that his wife is expecting their fourth child.
Rhett and his wife, Lauren, already have three daughters together. Yet a fourth is on the way as their family continues to grow. He shared the big news on Sunday with another post on Instagram while adding a photo of him and his wife at Billy Bob’s in Fort Worth.
“Well… we are pregnant again!” Thomas Rhett wrote in the announcement. “Tonight when I was on stage in Fort Worth about to play ‘to the guys that date my girls’ my wife talked to me in my (ear monitors) and said ‘you can tell them if you want’ so anyways, now you know.”
The country star is already dreading having to deal with the boys that will one day date his daughters. You can’t blame him, can you? He also hilariously joked that his fans need to buy some merchandise from him to help him pay for his four daughters’ eventual weddings.
“We are pumped to be having our 4th girl. Feel free to buy all the merch you want, knowing that all the proceeds are going straight to all these weddings I’ll be paying for one day! Love you so much @laur_akins we always wanted a big thanksgiving table,” Rhett concluded.
