You’re going to want to listen to Gary LeVox’s new EP, “One on One.”

Gary LeVox of Rascal Flatts is no stranger to fame. He spent over two decades touring the world and performing with his band. So, releasing a new single is nothing new to him. Nevertheless, LeVox said during an interview, that the release of his latest single feels “different.”

“Yeah, this feels completely different,” said LeVox. “I mean, this is my first solo record and my first gospel record.”

LeVox released his new EP, “One on One” on May 21st and it still has many of the same sounds he’s famous for. However, there is one big difference from his previous work: his Rascal Flatts bandmates aren’t featured. Levox said that “it was weird” to create an album without his bandmates, “but it was also fantastic to do something new that you hadn’t done in over two decades.”

“It was so freeing to go, ‘All right, this is what I want to do,’” said LeVox “…I had full reign. If I loved it, I did it. I didn’t have to ask anyone.”

LeVox added that he attributes the success of the album to surrendering to God.

“The Lord’s hand is all over this,” said LeVox. “That’s how it is when you let God take the reins. You don’t take them back. Let Him have his way. He’s always got a purpose and a plan.”

Gary LeVox’s “The Distance”

Gary LeVox Teamed Up With His Daughter for a Song On His New Album

The five-song EP features guest performances for every song except for “The Distance.” LeVox invited several stars to sing for his album including Christian band MercyMe, gospel singer Jonathan McReynolds, and country singer-songwriter BRELAND. But the coolest collaboration came with LeVox’s 20-year-old daughter, Brittany. The two teamed up for the song, “While I Wait.” During the same interview, Levox talked about what it was like working with his daughter in the studio

“I loved it as soon as I heard it, so I was playing it a bunch,” said LeVox about the song. “Brittany started singing the song around the house, and one day I was just like, ‘I want to put you on this thing,’ and she was like, ‘Daddy, are you serious?'”

He was definitely serious. So the two took to the studio and created some country music family magic.

“As a dad, it was hard not to cry,” said LeVox. “I’m just so proud of her. She’s a woman now. She’s not the little kid just singing to Justin Bieber anymore. It’s crazy.”
