Reba McEntire Plans to Open New Restaurant and Concert Venue In Oklahoma

The Queen of Country is expanding her empire. Reba McEntire announced last night that she plans to open a restaurant, bar, and concert venue in Oklahoma aptly named Reba’s Place. She partnered with the Choctaw Nation to help make her vision a reality.

Reba McEntire returned to the road Friday night for her first live show since March 2020. She played at Durant, Okla., and decided that would be the best place to announce her new restaurant. To help her, she invited Chief Gary Batton of Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma on the stage to celebrate their partnership. She posted their moment on Instagram.

“We’re really tickled. We’re very excited about it,” she said. “It’s going to have great food, family atmosphere, a bandstand in there where we can do a little pickin’ and grinnin’ and singing, and we’re hoping by the end of next year, around September 2022, around that some time that we’ll be ready for serving you guys. Come up and see us!”

Chief Batton called Reba McEntire the greatest female country singer of all time. He added that he couldn’t wait to work with her further on the project.

The Reba’s Place website says the restaurant will have scratch-made specialties from Nashville, New Orleans, and Mexico. And the menu will include “the ‘Fancy‘ steak dinner, street tacos, chicken fried steak and Reba’s personal favorite, pinto beans, and cornbread.”

Reba McEntire, John Schneider Have New Lifetime Christmas Movie

Reba McEntire made her Lifetime Christmas movie debut in the recent Christmas In Tune. But she had a good guide to help her navigate the network’s annual It’s A Wonderful Lifetime series of movies. John Schneider played opposite the country queen. The Dukes of Hazzard star appeared in several Christmas films on the channel.

Christmas in Tune follows Belle, a marketing executive who is on the verge of losing her job. To stave off her dismissal, she asks her divorced parents (McEntire and Schneider) to reform their band and lend their voices to a Christmas album. They haven’t spoken in years but decide to put aside their differences to help out their daughter.

Christmas In Tune is a really cute story about a man and a woman who were a duo singing partner and also married,” Reba McEntire said in a press release. “The lady is more of the singer, the man is more the writer, but they make a good duo. … They have a beautiful daughter, and things went south so they went their separate ways. The daughter gets them back together for a military benefit at Christmas. And of course, neither one could turn her down.”

The Lifetime movie premiered on the network earlier this week, but it will re-air throughout the holidays.
