Country singer Reba McEntire is setting the record straight about her political policy. The singer plans to remain politically neutral as always.
McEntire has never been one to get involved in politics. She doesn’t care if her fans are Democratic or Republican. And she also refuses to endorse any politician in their run for office. But recently some false information tested her political neutrality.
Recently, a flyer began making the rounds online for an upcoming BBQ fundraiser. The event was a benefit for current South Carolina Governor Kristi Noem. It also had one particular name on the bill – Reba McEntire. According to the flyer, McEntire was making an appearance at the event. But the country singer quickly set the record straight, calling the flyer a bunch of hogwash.
One Twitter user wrote about the flyer: “South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem will attend a BBQ fundraiser this Sunday in Montana, according to an invitation I obtained. Country music legend Reba McEntire is listed as a special guest.”
As a result of the flyer, Reba took to Instagram to restate her policy on politics. Any politicians probably shouldn’t expect McEntire’s endorsement anytime soon.
McEntire wrote on Instagram, “Last night, an invitation to a political fundraiser with my name attached was sent out without my knowledge. Or permission. I had and have no plans to attend this event. And had told the event organizers as such. Throughout my career, I have stated that I do not get involved in politics and that remains true today.
Reba McEntire Will Appear at Macy’s Fireworks Spectacular
Meanwhile, fans should expect Reba McEntire to make a public appearance relatively soon. Fortunately, McEntire’s no-politics doesn’t extend to the Fourth of July. She will be celebrating like many Americans with what else but a good ole fashion fireworks show.
Mark your calendars because McEntire plans on being at the Macy’s Fireworks Spectacular. This will also be Macy’s 45th Independence Celebration. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the department chain is centering this year’s celebration around unity. For instance, “United We Celebrate” is the name of the celebration.
Reportedly, McEntire will perform alongside some pretty big names. Both Coldplay and One Republic will also perform at the event. Tori Kelly, a Grammy-winner, will sing for the event as well. The event will feature an original arrangement “Hero’s Suite” to celebrate all those everyday heroes out there.
And of course, the event will have plenty of fireworks as well. McEntire is testing the waters until she kicks off her next concert tour, starting early next year. After taking 2020 off, the singer is ready to start performing live music again.
