Reba McEntire Wishes Fans a Happy Easter With Timeless Photo

Like many of us, Reba McEntire took a moment to celebrate the Easter holiday by sharing a heartfelt post to her Instagram. On Sunday, the “Fancy” singer posted the snap, looking off-camera while sitting cross-legged in a single church pew. To accompany the post, she kept it simple, writing, “Happy Easter! He has risen.”

This year, the holiday is expected to look a little different compared to last year. Amid the pandemic, many had to refrain from gathering with friends and family and could not attend church services.

Last year, McEntire made sure to keep herself in high spirits despite the unfortunate circumstances. For Easter 2020, McEntire shared a throwback photo from her childhood. In the pic, her followers saw a picture of a black-and-white snap of McEntire and her siblings in their Easter outfits.

“Being Easter Sunday, I have been looking for this picture all day,” McEntire shared in the caption. “Susie told me where it was. Thank you Susie. Mama had gotten Pake, me and Alice ready for Easter Sunday. #greatmemories #imissourmama #sograteful #pakemcentire #aliceforan #susiemcentireeaton.”

In addition, she shared a more recent photo of herself wearing a blue sweater with her red hair teased to the heavens. “Wishing you and your family a wonderful Easter weekend, even if it may look a little different than we’re used to!” she wrote.

Reba Mcentire Honors Late Mother With Tribute Video

For this year’s Easter, it will undoubtedly be hard for the singer. It’s officially been a year since she lost her mother, Jacqueline. The 93-year-old passed away on March 14, 2020, after a lengthy battle with cancer.

“Our Mother, Jacqueline McEntire, made that wonderful cross over into Heaven today. She had a wonderful, full, healthy life and was absolutely ready to go,” the singer shared on social media. “Cancer might think it won the battle but we’re giving God all the credit on selecting the time for her to go home to Him. She was ready to see our Daddy, her mama and daddy, and all her family and friends.”

To honor her mother, she recently posted a music video to mark the first anniversary of her passing. On Monday, she released a video for the song “You Never Gave Up on Me.” The video starts with McEntire’s acceptance speech for the “Female Vocalist of the Year” award at the 1984 CMA Awards. That night, she dedicated the award to her mother.

The tribute video contains home video footage of family photographs and clips that show fans McEntire’s childhood. McEntire included the song on her 2019 album, Stronger Than the Truth.
