A second member of Runaway June is getting ready to tie the knot!

Country singer and guitarist Jennifer Wayne revealed on Wednesday morning that she and popular country singer Austin Moody recently got engaged. The engagement comes just two months after Wayne and Moody became “official” on Instagram.

Wayne posted a photo of the two holding glasses of champagne, with the 38-year-old showing off the giant diamond on her ring finger.

“Happy birthday to the man I get to spend the rest of my life with!!! I love you @theaustinmoody. Can’t wait to celebrate the day with you…” Wayne captions their engagement photo on Instagram.

Moody, 30, proposed outside of Ocean Way Nashville Studios on Monday afternoon, according to People. Another member of the popular band, Natalie Stovall, was also part of the surprise. She asked Wayne to meet her at the studio. However, upon her arrival, Moody was there waiting with a ring in his hand.

After Wayne said “yes,” Stovall was ready with a bottle of champagne to celebrate. The two FaceTimed fellow Runaway Rune member Naomi Cooke to break the good news to her. Cooke also got engaged earlier this month, to the frontman of Boys Like Girls, Martin Johnson.

Wayne was previously engaged to “I Met a Girl” singer William Michael Morgan. Her grandfather was legendary actor John Wayne.

A Year of Ups and Downs for Jennifer Wayne

2020 has certainly been an interesting year for Jennifer Wayne and the country trio, both on a personal and professional level. Runaway June released their first Christmas EP, When I Think About Christmas, earlier this year.

The album’s title track was co-written by Wayne herself. Runaway June also released their critically acclaimed single “We Were Rich.” That song was a follow-up to their record-breaking single “Buy My Own Drinks.”

However, 2020 also has also had its fair share of difficult challenges for Wayne and the country group. Wayne herself battled COVID-19 earlier this year in March. And just two months after her COVID diagnosis, Hannah Mulholland made the decision to leave the group. Stovall became the replacement for Mulholland soon after.

Although it was no doubt a tough year for Wayne, she is leaving 2020 in a high note and starting 2021 the same way.
