Runaway June to Release New 3-Song EP, ‘Backstory,’ on Aug. 20

The talented trio, Runaway June, is set to release a new EP later this month. A week from now, August 20th, the band’s third EP drops with three new songs. Runaway June, made up of Naomi Cooke, Jennifer Wayne, and Natalie Stovall has been one of the best new acts of the last half-decade. Their songs about relationships, partying, drunks texts, and more have entertained since the group formed in 2015.

This new EP will be a lot like previous projects from Runaway June. With a bluegrass sound and smooth, inviting vocals, the trio harmonizes beautifully. The songs are reportedly “high-energy” and “heart-pounding”. As a 2018 ACM Nominee for Best New Vocal Group, they have had a high level of success early on. Backstory will reflect on relationships, heartbreak, and moving on from the pain.

With just a week until the release, fans still have time to pre-save/pre-add the album on various streaming platforms. The band will also be going on tour with their new songs. The night before the EP release, Runaway June will be in Maryland Height, Missouri before they head over to Noblesville, Indiana the day of the release. The weekend finishes up with the band playing at The Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre in Tinley Park, Illinois.

Currently, for the upcoming tour, Runaway June has dates scheduled all the way through the middle of October. They will be hitting California pretty hard with six straight shows in the state.

Runaway June Running Away with Success

Since arriving on the scene in 2015, Runaway June has run away with lots of success. Their songs have millions of streams on Spotify and other platforms. Back in 2019 after their ACM Nomination, the band toured with Carrie Underwood. Also, the trio was asked to help contribute to the reissue of Johnny Cash’s Forever Words.

That tour from August through October, will not just be any regular tour either. Runaway June will be joining Luke Bryan’s Proud To Be Right Here Tour which will surely only further their momentum. The success isn’t unwarranted, either. The three, Cooke, Wayne, and Stovall, are seriously talented and know how to bring out the best in each other’s abilities.

With the upcoming EP and the tour, Runaway June will more than likely be appearing on your radio waves and hopefully, in your streaming playlists. In just their sixth year together, Runaway June is on the right track and seems to only keep going uphill.
