Country music star and granddaughter of John Wayne, Jennifer Wayne of Runaway June, married musician Austin Moody.
The two met five years ago at Ocean Way Studios in Nashville and reconnected this past summer. After announcing their relationship via social media in October, the two got engaged two months later. Two weeks after that, they tied the knot in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida.
Both Wayne and moody shared photos from the big day on Instagram. Along with a photo of the two on their wedding day, Wayne wrote “I got to marry my favorite person in the world last night. My forever now.”
Moody shared the same photo along with a heartfelt message. Moody wrote, “I’m still in complete shock but I’m humbled and honored to introduce you to Mrs. Moody. Now more than ever, I am able to truly admire and appreciate everything she is. I’ve never met anyone so kind and generous to people she knows as well as complete strangers. Without even knowing it, she teaches me how to be a better person every day that I am with her. I can’t believe I got to marry my best friend.”
Moody then addressed Wayne directly and shared his promise to her for their marriage.
“Jennifer, now I stand before the world a brand new man because of the love you’ve shown me. From this moment on you will never walk alone,” Moody writes.
How Did The Runaway June Musician Meet Her Husband?
Althouth the two had already met, it wasn’t until this past year that romance bloomed between them. The two reconnected after Moody texted Wayne’s bandmate Natalie Stovall about a dog he had found on the freeway.
“He knew Natalie, and he knew she loved dogs,” said Wayne. “So, he sent the picture of the dog to Natalie, and Natalie said, ‘Oh, Jen saves dogs … we need to send to Jen.’ The rest is history!”
Wayne’s dogs even made an appearance during the wedding as ring bearers. Due to the pandemic, Wayne and Moody opted for a small wedding with less than 20 guests. They also asked that each guest get a COVID test before attending the ceremony. Although the wedding was held on the beach, the two brought a little bit of Nashville to the ceremony with a cowboy/cowgirl themed wedding.
