She has collaborated with some of the biggest names in the music industry, including Lionel Richie and Elton John, and now country superstar Shania Twain is revealing the two country singers she’s ready to team up with next.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Shania Twain states she is super interested in collaborating with Blake Shelton and his fiance, Gwen Stefani. “Well, my goal is to do a trio with them,” she explains. “I think trio vocals. So that’s the first thing I wanna do.”
Shania also addressed the couple in a recent episode of her podcast Home Now Radio and their upcoming super-secretive wedding. “When you set the wedding date, let me know,” she says. “Even if I’m not invited, I’ll be thinking of you. I’ll be sending good thoughts your way.”
Twain previously wished her “Endless Love” duet partner, Lionel Richie a happy birthday on her Instagram. In the post, Shania writes, “Happy Birthday @lionelrichie! You have my endless love!!” The post features a heart and a kissy face emoji
During an interview in 2018, Shania Twain shared details about how she and Lionel ended up singing the song together. “Lionel called my managers up and said, ‘I need to speak to her, I want to do this duet with her on my album,” she explains. “I just kept saying, ‘No.’ Not to say no for the sake of turning down Lionel Richie, because of course, I’m going to always jump at that chance and I was too afraid. I really believed I couldn’t do it and didn’t want to embarrass myself in front of Lionel Richie and I didn’t want to try and then fail.”
Shania Twain Talks Return to the Stage After Long Hiatus Due to COVID-19
Shania Twain is currently preparing for up her upcoming Las Vegas residency at Planet Hollywood. The venue as notably shut down in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. While speaking about her hiatus, Shania states, “I have not [seen] my dancers, my crew, the band, and I haven’t seen the fans. So it’s time to reunite. Time to party.”
Twain also explains the process of the residency and what was organized before the pandemic put everything on hold. “I put so much work into the show, from designing to building the concept and the wardrobe to bringing a show together that I think my fans will love,” Shania says. “And then all of a sudden, it’s just stopped. So I as looking forward to getting back into the environment, back on the stage, you know watching it all up and running again.”
Shania went on to add, “Most of all, I have to say [I miss] just the hugging, hugging the fans. I hope that we’re allow to hug by then.”
Twain is set to head back to Las Vegas in December 2021. Shania’s shows will reportedly be held December 2nd-12th, 2021 and then February 11th-26th, 2022, including a special Valentine’s Day performance.
