Looking back on the country songstress’ career it is easy to see why she is so grateful for her fans. Twain’s second studio album, “The Woman in Me”, which came out 25 years ago skyrocketed her to stardom. The was certified diamond in 2007 and spawned several hit singles upon release. The album also gave her the first of her five Grammy Awards. That was only the beginning.

Currently, Shania Twain holds several awards from both the Country Music Association and the Academy of Country Music. She was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 2011. It is safe to say that the country music superstar has her fans to thank for much of her success.

Twain’s Appearance in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade had humble beginnings compared to what it has become over the years. The first parade was 96 years ago and included Macy’s employees, professional bands, and live animals from the Central Park Zoo. Their destination was the flagship Macy’s store in Macy’s Herald Square. Once there, Santa Clause was enthroned on the balcony of the 34th street store. While successful, there was little media coverage of the event.

Almost a century later, watching the parade has become a Thanksgiving tradition for families all over the country. The parade boasts huge floats, celebrity guests, and musical performances.

Twain’s stardom rose quickly enough that she was able to sit atop a float in the iconic parade less than a year after releasing her breakout album.
