Shania Twain recently teamed up with Kelsea Ballerini for the ultimate duo by releasing a new version of Ballerini’s song “Hole In The Bottle.”
Twain and Ballerini haven’t been shy about complimenting each other publicly.
“Kelsea is an incredible singer-songwriter, I’m so glad she reached out to me to do Hole In The Bottle,” Twain wrote on Twitter. “Everything about this song is totally my vibe and really speaks to my sense of humor! Loved working on this with you @KelseaBallerini.”
Just recently, Ballerini raved about their relationship to Jeremy Parsons on PEOPLE (the TV Show!).
“I’m just beaming. The fact that she even knows who I am still freaks me out,” Ballerini, 27, says of the Twain. “But the fact that someone that genuinely shaped me wanting to be a woman in entertainment, a songwriter, a businesswoman, someone who pushed boundaries, someone who blazed trails.”
Shania Twain Musical Influence
Ballerini performed her song “Hole In The Bottle” on Wednesday night at the County Music Association Awards. Her performance had a little Twain influence.
During the performance, Ballerini shared several nods to Twain. She could be seen sporting outfits similar to the icon’s signature style on Instagram. Ballerini even wore a top hat like in Twain’s famous hit, “Man, I Feel Like a Woman.”
She also shouted “Let’s go girls!” at the end of her performance. That’s perhaps one of Twain’s most famous phrases.
While Ballerini performed her song at the CMAs on Wednesday night, she had no nominations this year. Meanwhile, although she didn’t receive any nominations this 2020 CMA Awards, Ballerini did put out an album earlier this year.
Twain is famous for creating the bestselling album ever made by a woman in 2002. She then had to stop performing for almost 15 years. She had contracted Lyme disease and had to have an operation to reconstruct her vocal box.
Furthermore, Twain is also famous for being one of the first country-pop crossover artists, before Taylor Swift’s time. Ballerini, as a current country-pop singer, is a symbol of what artists like Twain have done to reinvent the country genre.
Shania Twain’s “Let’s Go! The Las Vegas Residency” tour is happening in December.
