Taylor Swift Being Replaced by Brad Paisley on Iconic Nashville Mural

by Josh Lanier

There are some major changes coming to a famous mural in downtown Nashville. The artist of the Legends Corner mural will replace the image of Taylor Swift with one of Brad Paisley. Two other famous country stars will also be added to it, though who else will be included wasn’t released.

The Legends Corner mural, which is located near the Ryman Auditorium at 5th and Broadway, is a famous stop for tourists visiting the country music mecca. It features some of the biggest country stars of all time. Those include George Strait, Johnny Cash, Alan Jackson, Merle Haggard, and several others. And up until very recently Taylor Swift. Her image was removed from a stool in the painting for Paisley, Fox 17 reported. Officials didn’t say why she was replaced.

Artist Tim Davis began outlining a female star to adorn the mural between Garth Brooks and Dolly Parton, but it is unclear who it will be.

This is the second mural Swift has had removed from Nashville in as many years.

She famously (and secretly) commissioned a large pair of butterfly wings on a wall in the Gulch neighborhood two years ago for her album Lover, The Tennessean said. City officials removed the piece by artist Kelsey Montague last year and preserved it. Swifties would often line up for blocks just to have their photos taken in front of the piece.

LA Kings Remove Taylor Swift Jinx Banner

There’s no doubt Taylor Swift is one of the most successful music acts of all time. In fact, she’s sold out the Staples Center more times than any other artist. The arena gave her a banner for the honor in 2015, but since then fans of the LA Kings said they’ve noticed something: their team stinks.

The Kings won the Stanley Cup in 2012. In 2013, the team made it to the conference finals. The next year, they hoisted the Stanley Cup again. Since then, though, their performance has gone downhill drastically. The Kings have only made it to two playoffs since 2015. Both times they were out in the first round.

In 2019, the Staples Center started covering the banner during Kings home games. That didn’t seem to lift the Taylor Swift curse. They didn’t even make the playoffs in the 2019-2020 season. Tuesday, sports journalist Arash Markazi tweeted a photo that showed that the banner was gone.

Will it be enough? The Kings will find out when the season starts in January.
