Taylor Swift has been full of surprises the last few months.

From releasing her most unexpected and different indie-folk album “folklore,” to now saying she’s releasing an intimate film of the process.

Tonight at midnight PST on Disney Plus, the singer’s “Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions” will premiere. The star has been saying that she hasn’t been up to much lately, but fans have been speculating differently.

Swift Surprises Fans Again

Between the news of this film and the possibility of a 10-minute version of “All Too Well,” Swift’s name continues to buzz through the trending section on social media.

The film is a very intimate concert of the recording of “folklore” which she did all during the quarantine. It will also feature clips of Swift generally talking about the impact and importance of the record-breaking album. She produced it with the help of The National’s Aaron Dessner who also appears in the film.

On speaking of the recording process Swift said, “If we’re going to have to recalibrate everything, we should start with what we love the most first.”

The album has been widely-loved by fans after being shocked by Swift’s surprise album.

“It’s an album that allows you to feel your feelings and it’s a product of isolation,” Swift said.

For Swift, while the process was unexpected, she was using her songwriting and music-making abilities to produce something to reduce the clutter, the silence, and the stir-crazy feeling that is a product of the national pandemic’s quarantine.

“This could have been a time where I absolutely lost my mind. Instead I think this album was a real flotation device for both of us,” Swift said.

The singer also released news of the movie to her fans on Instagram.

Fan Reactions

Fans were quick to exclaim their excitement over getting to see some behind-the-scenes footage of the album. The first 10 or so replies to Swift’s announcement tweet are in all-caps, which seems like a good representation of fans’ responses.

One fan said, “QUEEN OF GIVING HEART ATTACKS TO HER FANS,” while another said “WELL GOOD MORNING TO YOU TOO.”

When the dark breakup album was released, it brought a lot of fans to some pretty extreme emotional states. From Twitter to Instagram to TikTok, people were posting their reactions to the album.

Most of it was people crying or trying not to give into crying.

“It turned out that everyone needed a good cry, as well as us,” Swift said on making the album.
