Today marks the day that the Charlie Daniels Band received its first honors of many for A Decade of Hits. The Charlie Daniels Band Instagram account is honoring the day by posting a photo.

The post is of the album artwork for the platinum album. The caption reads, “ON THIS DAY in 1989, the CDB’s ‘A Decade of Hits’ album was certified platinum. To date, it has been certified 4X platinum for well over 4 million units sold.”

Additionally, the Charlie Daniels Band Team shares a link to purchase, stream and download the album.

Daniels had such a rewarding life, that the CDB Team often shares his success on social media. Just yesterday on Jan. 22, the account shows another photo of any important milestone.

“ON THIS DAY in 1983, Volunteer Jam IX was held at Municipal Auditorium in Nashville, TN. The CDB’s special guests included James Brown, Carl Perkins, Dickey Betts, Grinderswitch, Quarterflash, Johnny Lee, Dr. Hook, Winters Brothers Band, Papa John Creach, Woody Herman and many more.”

A photo collage of Daniels and his “special guests” accompany the description.

Breakdown of Charlie Daniels Band’s ‘A Decade of Hits’

This iconic album was released three years before it was certified platinum. It was on June 20, 1983, when this record hit the shelves. A Decade of Hits is a complication of greatest hits from the Charlie Daniels Band. However, the album also included two new songs, “Strokers Theme” from the movie “Stroker Ace” and “Everytime I See Him.”

Some other notable songs are, of course, “The Devil Went Down to Georgia,” “Uneasy Rider,” and “In America.”

All in all, Daniels has nine gold, platinum, or multi-platinum albums, according to Studio B. Super Hits is Double Platinum. Million Mile Reflection is Triple Platinum. A Decade of Hits is Quadruple Platinum.

Additionally, the legend’s longform video, “Homefolks and Highways” is gold. “The Devil Went Down to Georgia” is a platinum single. Moreover, it received the CMA Single of the Year award in 1979. Also that year, the Charlie Daniels Band won a Grammy for Best Country Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group. The song also crossed over and become a Top Five pop hit.

The year 1979 continues to be a good one for the icon. Daniels was named CMA Musician of the Year. Then the Charlie Daniels Band won CMA Instrumental Group of the Year in ’79 and 1980.
