Two years ago today, country music star Miranda Lambert married NYPD officer, Brendan McLoughlin.

The unlikely romance started when Lambert made an appearance on Good Morning America with her band, The Pistol Annies. Her bandmates spoted McLoughlin working security on set and thought he’d be perfect for Lambert. So, they invited him to one of their shows without Lambert knowing.

“My girlfriends, the Annies, saw him and knew I might be ready to hang out with someone. They invited him to our show behind my back,” said Lambert during an interview. “They plucked him for me. My security guy Tom, he was in on it too. He said to me, ‘He’s here. And he’s pretty,'” said Lambert.

Lambert says that she’s actually grateful that her friends set her up “behind her back.”

“I don’t really have game so I was really nervous. It worked out,” said Lambert. “He’s beautiful. He’s a cutie,” she said.

The two married on January 26, 2019, just a few months after meeting. McLoughlin even stars in the new Miranda Lambert music video for the song, “Settling Down.”

Is Miranda Lambert Becoming A City Girl?

Now that she’s married to a New York City native, Lambert is spending a lot more time in the city. Although her roots will always be with country, she says she’s starting to appreciate city life.

“I’ve been here several times over the past decade for work, but I never just came to New York to, like, disappear in the city and have fun and be part of it,” said Lambert. “I think it creeped into my heart a little bit, too, which is what I was hoping,” she said.

Lambert jokes that she and her bandmates have accomplished a lot over the past nine years as a band.

“Now the Pistol Annies have three husbands, two ex-husbands, three children, a stepson, and 23 animals. We’ve done a lot in nine years!” said Lambert.

In conclusion, Miranda Lambert is living her best life both in and out of the spotlight.
