Thomas Rhett Reveals How Many Kids He and His Wife Plan to Have in CMA Awards 2020 Interview

Country star Thomas Rhett delighted fans last year when he walked the CMA red carpet with his pregnant wife and two young daughters.

Lauren Akins, Rhett’s wife, gave birth to the couple’s third daughter, Lennon Love, in February. Lennon Love joined sisters Willa Gray and Ada James.

So how many more children do Rhett and his wife want?

Rhett says five or six kids. He dropped by “The Bobby Bones Show” Wednesday morning to talk about all things CMAs, which are later tonight. And with Rhett, his family is a big part of the show, too.

Bones asked him if he wanted a boy in the family. He said yes, definitely.

“Our house is so chaotic anyway, me and Lauren want to continue to have kids,” Rhett said. “I really want to have a boy, but I doubt my wife will stop until we have five or six kids. “

Wednesday Is a Big Day for Thomas Rhett

It’s a big day for Rhett and his family.

He and his wife announced Wednesday they’ll be hosting the annual “CMA Country Christmas” special. The show will air Nov. 30.

“We can’t wait for you all to get to watch that and get into the holiday spirit with us,” Rhett told “Good Morning America.”

Other performers will be announced at a later date.

And then Rhett is up for two CMAs, for male vocalist and musical event for “Be A Light” at tonight’s ceremony in Nashville.

Tonight will be the first time Rhett has performed “Be a Light” to a national audience. It’s a collaboration with Reba McEntire, Hillary Scott and Chris Tomlin.

The song was first performed in late March when the country was in lockdown because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Proceeds from the song go to bands and their crews who are losing money because they can’t tour.
