Break out the salt and limes because this July Fourth, we are partying Thomas Rhett style with his favorite tequila cocktail.
With the help of Rhett’s cousin, Jeff, the two launched their very own Dos Primos tequila brand last year. Furthermore, the fitting name literally means “Two Cousins” in Spanish. For us, thirsty, margarita-loving, fourth of July celebrating people, we will happily give it a try.
“Our decision to create a new tequila brand grew out of just loving being with family. Jeff and I wanted to create a tequila that was expertly crafted and could be enjoyed year-round – regardless of the season or activity – with the people we care about most. Dos Primos is all about who we are and what’s important to us.”
Thomas Rhett Takes on Bartending
Are your mixology skills a little out of date or potentially lacking completely? Don’t worry. Thomas Rhett has a few suggestions on how to enjoy Dos Primos tequila properly.
In an interview with his record label, Big Machine Label Group, Rhett prefers to keep it nice and simple.
“I personally like to drink it over some ice cubes with an orange peel, just a little bit of spritz of an orange peel,” he says. “But I love just a little bit of Topo Chico and lime with it as well.”
However, if you aren’t exactly the type of person who would just throw some tequila on ice and drink away, we have another option. For those of you who are a little more high maintenance (I’ll happily claim this category), Thomas Rhett has his favorite “fancy” cocktail.
“If I’m getting fancy and I’m putting on my cocktail making kit, I don’t really have a name for it, but basically, it’s tequila with rosemary simple syrup. So you just make simple syrup, just like normal, and put some rosemary in there and then top it off with sparkling grapefruit juice. Fire! That would be my favorite way, if I’m doing a cocktail, to make it, for sure.”
Oh goodness, it’s starting to taste like a Friday. Is anyone else suddenly thirsty for a good time?
If you are looking to get your hands on some of Thomas Rhett’s Dos Primos tequila, visit dosprimostequila.com, or most liquor stores probably carry it for around $40. But can you really put a price on a good time? We didn’t think so.
According to the news source, the alcohol is “a blanco tequila made from hand-harvested 100% Blue Agave sourced from estates in Los Altos and the valley area of Jalisco, Mexico.”
Now get out there with your red, white, and blue tank top, drink in hand, crank up “God Bless America,” and watch some fantastic fireworks while we honor this incredible country! Cheers!
