The last year has been tough for the music scene. Not only have fans been clamoring to get back to live music, but musicians have also been eager to play live music. Tim McGraw is no different. For one of the busiest men in country music, the last year has probably been rather boring. Touring, traveling, playing shows, and all that comes with that are a big part of who these performers are.
Last August, McGraw released his 16th studio album. Here On Earth features 16 songs from McGraw, but a deluxe version has dropped this year that features 24 songs. The country music star is going to be promoting the album by touring. However, McGraw hasn’t just been sitting around during the pandemic. He has made the most of his time and has a podcast.
Recently, Tim McGraw interviewed Dolly Parton on his podcast for Apple Music radio. Parton revealed quite a bit in that interview. They talked about her film career and Dolly gave about the most Dolly line you could think of. The Queen of Country said, “I made a better whore than a secretary,” when discussing her various roles. From 9 to 5 to The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Parton has played both very well.
With live music coming back, you know McGraw is going to get back out on the stage. The I Like It, I Love It star shared an emotional video to Twitter. McGraw is set to play the Watershed Festival with a variety of great acts both new, old, and in between. The video shows McGraw walking into his first rehearsal before a show since the pandemic.
Tim McGraw Rehearses Before Festival
The look on the face of not only McGraw, but the rest of the crew was priceless. The excitement is felt throughout the short, one-minute clip. For a whole industry, the last few months have been almost like a family reunion. With shows being played all over the country, there should be some more great moments like this out there on social media.
With the recent opening of things across America artists like Chris Stapleton and Tyler Childers are back out on the road. Not only that, but George Strait is getting back out there and promoting his latest project. Things seem to be getting along once again and seeing these artists perform is special.
Watershed Festival is going to be a big one. Held in Washington, the festival is focused on country music and camping out at the Gorge Amphitheater. McGraw will be one of three headliners for the festival. Dierks Bentley and Thomas Rhett will be the other two headliners.
Dee Jay Silver will open on the main stage all three days. Performances from Ashley McBryde, Morgan Evans, and Billy Currington will take place on the second day, Saturday the 31st. Then the last night will not only feature Thomas Rhett, but performances from Blanco Brown, Hardy, and Jon Pardi. The festival looks like a great all-around show.
