Tim McGraw Talks ‘I Like It, I Love It’
One of McGraw’s biggest hit song is “I like It, I Love It,” which rose to number one on country charts in 1995. The song was the debut single off of his third studio album “All I want.” The album was released just three days after “I Like It, I Love It” took the number one slot on almost every country music chart.
McGraw recently sat down to talk about the song and inspiration that went into making it a hit. Speaking with Huntsville, Alabama Radio Station WDRM-FM, McGraw recalls recording the song.
“I didn’t think much about recording it,” he says. “I was kind of cold on it, and I listened to it again, and for some reason, it hit me a whole lot different the second time around. And then when we went in and cut the track, the track just turned out so fun and so cool that it really didn’t matter how much I liked it anymore after we got to the track because I loved it after that.
The song would go on to remain atop country music charts for five weeks. It also appears on three of McGraw’s “Greatest Hits” albums.
