Tim McGraw Announces Performance for Inauguration Special with Florida Georgia Line’s Tyler Hubbard

Tim McGraw took to Twitter earlier today with a big announcement. He and Tyler Hubbard will perform on the primetime inauguration special. McGraw and Hubbard will join other musical guests including Jon Bon Jovi, Demi Lovato and Justin Timberlake, and Ant Clemons. Tom Hanks will host the event.

In the post, Tim McGraw says he is honored to be performing at the event. The country superstar closed his post with “#UNDIVIDED” which is most likely what he and Hubbard will perform. A fitting choice for these times.

Earlier in the day, Garth Brooks will play the swearing-in ceremony for Biden and Harris. He will join Jennifer Lopez, Lady Gaga, and Kerry Washington. That will only be a fraction of the festivities for the day. However, the inaugural team calls the primetime event a capstone to the ceremonies of the day.

The primetime special won’t have any problems following that stacked lineup, though. Along with the celebrity and musical performances, it will include remarks from Biden and Harris as well as regular Americans. In fact, the inaugural team is looking at this as a way to celebrate the American spirit. The Presidential Inaugural Committee said the special will, “highlight the strength of our democracy, the perseverance of our people, and our ability to come together during trying times and emerge stronger than ever before.”

Tim McGraw and Tyler Hubbard to Perform “Undivided”

Tim McGraw and Tyler Hubbard recently released their track “Undivided,” a call for unity. So, it would only be natural for the duo to perform that track for the primetime special.

About the song, Hubbard said, “I thought, ‘Man, I thought we needed this message last year.’ I didn’t think we could need it any more than we needed it last year, but apparently, we still do,”

Tim McGraw pointed out that the duet is not a political statement. According to the country star, “But the song, it speaks to more of the social contract that we have with each other. It’s not about politics, it’s about how we’re supposed to treat each other.”

In these turbulent times, we can only hope the American people will hear and heed the call for unity. That may be the only thing that takes us through to a brighter tomorrow.
