Although Christmas is around the corner, Tim McGraw is being a scrooge about viewing his own 2008 holiday film “Four Christmases”.
The country music legend turned actor, Tim McGraw, said when he tried to watch the holiday film he stars in, “Four Christmases”, he could barely even get through the trailer.
“I’ve never seen Four Christmases. Never seen it,” McGraw reveals during an interview with KMLE in Phoenix, Ariz.
In the film, Tim McGraw appears alongside Hollywood stars Vince Vaughn and Reese Witherspoon. McGraw played the part of Dallas, the younger brother of Vince Vaughn’s character, Brad.
“I saw the trailer, and I’m like, ‘Oh, I’m never, I can’t look at myself like that for an hour and a half, two hours, heck no,'” McGraw continues. “I don’t even like to hear myself, much less look at myself.”
“Four Christmases” received a 25% score on Rotten Tomatoes, stating the reason for the negative review is, “Despite a strong cast, this sour holiday comedy suffers from a hackneyed script.
About “Four Christmases”
The film revolves around a couple, Witherspoon and Vaughn, who’ve been together several years. The two are in love, as well as loving life, without the thought of marriage or having children.
However, Christmas morning, while on their way to vacationing to a warm, tropical island, the two experience a change of plans. From there chaos and romance ensue as the couple meets each other’s cooky families. Witherspoon and Vaughn learn more about themselves as individuals and as a couple.
Other cast members include film superstars Robert Duvall, Sissy Spacek and Jon Voight, along with McGraw, of course.
McGraw’s Film History
When it comes to films, McGraw has done well, especially in the hit, “The Blind Side”, where he played the husband of Sandra Bullock. The film won Bullock the Academy Award for Best Actress, the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama, and the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role.
McGraw also played alongside film star Gwyneth Paltrow in “Country Strong”.
Although McGraw may be unable to watch himself in “Four Christmases”, his wife Faith Hill has always been one filled with encouragement for her husband. The two have both played a part in the holiday season, with Hill’s being the song “Where Are You Christmas?”.
Perhaps during the upcoming holidays, McGraw will finally be able to watch “Four Christmases” with his wife and family.
