Tim McGraw Sends Special Message to Those in the Path of Hurricane Ida: ‘Praying for the Folks in My Home State’

Country star Tim McGraw is sharing a bit of love with those in his home state of Louisiana ahead of a major hurricane.

Those who’ve been following the latest storm tracker know Hurricane Ida is strengthening and heading right for the stretch of land along the Gulf Coast.

While officials are monitoring the storm’s path to see where it will make landfall, Ida is still anticipated to strengthen and turn into a Category 4 hurricane.

“Praying for the folks in my home state of Louisiana and all that are in Hurricane Ida’s path.  Stay safe,” McGraw wrote in a Twitter post Saturday.

The state has seen so much devastation in recent years, including the damages created by Hurricane Katrina.

Ida is expected to make landfall sometime Sunday as officials warn residents to take precautions.

“Preparations to protect life and property should be rushed to completion today in the warning area along the northern Gulf coast,” the National Hurricane Center warned on Saturday.

The announcement also noted “life-threatening storm surge flooding, damaging winds and flash flooding” to portions of the Louisiana and Mississippi coastlines.

Tim McGraw’s Projects

While McGraw is safely out of the storm’s path, the singer is still busy with a slew of other projects.

Firstly, he recently accepted a role in the “Yellowstone” spin-off “1883” with wife Faith Hill. The Taylor Sheridan original will follow the original Duttons as they settle in the northwestern United States. McGraw expressed his excitement at joining the collaboration.

In addition to his wife, he will also be joined by superstar Sam Elliott. Producers of the show recently announced its launch. Production for the show began in early August. The highly anticipated spinoff is something every “Yellowstone” fan is looking forward to.

Additionally, The country music star also released his video for “7500 OBO”, which stars his daughter Audrey. McGraw said how proud he was of her work in the video.

“Couldn’t be more thrilled to have my youngest daughter, Audrey, play the lead role in the music video for #7500OBO!!!” McGraw said beneath a photo on Instagram. The two are seen smiling amid a backdrop of a dusty field and an old truck.

While a kissing scene in the video made McGraw a bit nervous for his daughter, he still maintained a good attitude about the whole scene.

“I tried to yell ‘cut!’ but I didn’t get there quick enough,” he jokes of the nerve-wracking scene. “It’s not easy for a dad to watch, I can tell you that. I’m not going to beat him up. I guess I’ll let him slide on this one.”
