Tim McGraw teased the country music world with a tweet Monday afternoon.
He started February by posting a photo of a microphone in a recording studio. All he wrote was “gettin some work done. #newmusic.”
Hmm, wonder what Tim McGraw is doing?
In the week after the song was released, 152 radio stations added it to their airplay rotations. That topped the week. And, it also broke a record for the best week ever in Mediabase/Country Aircheck history.
McGraw and Hubbard did lots of press for the song’s debut. And, it got a huge boost on the night of President Joe Biden’s inauguration. McGraw and Hubbard sang it live from Nashville as part of “the Celebrating America” special.
The show featured some of the biggest stars across all musical genres. McGraw and Hubbard were the country acts. The special drew an audience of more than 24 million, playing on all major networks.
However, the song was Hubbard’s project. He wrote it in November as he quarantined on the tour bus parked in his driveway. Once he finished the song, Hubbard said he messaged McGraw. And the two quickly went to work.
