Musical Talent Runs in Toby Keith’s Family
In 2004, Toby Keith and his daughter, Krystal, rocked the stage of the CMA Awards. On that evening, the performed their unique cover of the song “Mockingbird.”
“I should have been completely terrified, but I was 18 or 19, and I really just didn’t have any reservations about it,” Krystal Keith told The Boot. “My dad was like, ‘Well, here’s your X, and here’s my X, and if you need anything …’ The curtains were about to open, and I was like, ‘What I need is for you to get on your X.'”
If you know the song “Mockingbird,” chances are good that you know it from a duet performed by James Taylor and Carly Simon. Making the song even more interesting is that Taylor and his sister would sing the song while they were in their teens.
