Toby Keith Shares ‘All-American’ Election Day Playlist for Heading to Polls

Country artist Toby Keith is well-known for sticking up for American rights while singing about sticking a boot in another country’s backside, and he’s given America the perfect playlist to take to the polls.

Toby Keith has compiled a list of songs he believes will get voters ready to head to the polls Tuesday. He’s put forth the effort to ensure a rocking good time while fulfilling the all-American right to vote.

There are a variety of 28 songs giving tribute to the U.S.A. on the list, and Keith is sure to add many of his own. However, with 28 songs from several genres, the playlist should be able to get you through the line at the polls and keep your head bobbing.

What are some of these patriotic songs you might ask? Here are three of the tunes on Toby’s list:

1) Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue (The Angry American) – Toby Keith

Of course, the playlist begins with Keith’s own blue-blooded ode to America, which he wrote following the 9/11 attacks. With lyrics, such as “And the Statue of Liberty started shakin’ her first. And the eagle will fly. And there’s gonna be hell when you hear Mother Freedom start ringing her bell”, this song may need to be the official theme song of the U.S. of A. The message is simple: “don’t mess with America if you know what’s good for you”.

2) Born in the U.S.A – Bruce Springsteen

Depending on your genre preference, “Born in the U.S.A” would be America’s rock anthem. This is the single to have blasting in your headphones while waiting in line to cast your ballot. This is Springsteen’s biggest hit, and whether you were actually born in the U.S.A. or immigrated from another country, this is a superb American classic. The 80’s hit rocks all-year long, but is even sweeter on election day.

3) God Bless the USA – Lee Greenwood

This list wouldn’t be complete without Greenwood’s “God Bless the USA”. The song is a touching tribute to America, and fondly reminds ourselves of the freedoms we, as Americans, are granted. “God Bless the USA” expresses gratitude for the men and women who’ve currently or previously served in the military. “And I’m proud to be an American, where at least I know I’m free, and I won’t forget the men who died who gave that right to me”. A true American song to remind us all how our freedom is, in fact, not free.

Both conservatives and liberals can find a song they enjoy on “Toby Keith’s All-American Playlist”. With a mixture of tunes highlighting the importance of freedom and granting deep respect for our country, this list of songs has come out just in time for Americans to take to the polls and determine the future of our country.
